Loser Part 7

Ephesians 25:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. It is my professional opinion that every man has a need and desire to be a hero, and every woman has a need and desire to be rescued, to be a princess someone would die for. If we would each just do our part and trust the Lord, we would all win. I have three beautiful girls that think I can fix just about anything. Any time they are scared or have a problem, they come to me. I really feel like they look to me as their hero. I hope they all get married someday and I won’t pick their men for them, but he will have to be a better hero than me for me to approve. I didn’t say “accept.” I said “approve.” I know the apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:24 to run the race in a way to get the prize. You have got to read what he said in verse 19 first. “Though I am free, and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.” Paul is not talking about the act of winning. Rather, he means the conditioning and work to be able to win. Nobody wins without training and preparation, but many so-called Christians don’t train, prepare for battle or deny themselves. They never learn to lose to themselves so that Jesus can win through them. You know, you will be the only church some people visit.
